Artwork Description

West Hobart tram services came to a halt after a power failure on a rainy day in April 1952. Passengers are shown walking to and from the corner of Molle and Goulburn Streets.

This painting was inspired by a photograph included in the book "Hobart's Tram Trilogy" by David Kirby, and is attributed to the 'Paul Edwards collection/Mercury'.

Painted using Golden heavy-bodied acrylics on canvas stretched onto a wooden frame measuring 90cm by 60cm by 4cm deep.
