Artwork Description

When I lived in Sydney, I loved the autumn months and the changing colours of the trees. I would walk daily to Centennial Park and on this particular day I saw one of the ponds with the beautiful morning shadows. The Trees in the foreground were changing their colours in autumn brilliance, and I wanted to capture this in my painting.

I grew up in New Zealand in a very scenic coastal town, so the dramatic sweeping landscapes influenced me at an early age. I moved to Sydney in 1989 and from 1999 I lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney where I rekindled a passion for landscape art. The diverse flora of the eastern suburbs influenced my palette, drawing me into the colour and magic of Sydney's coastline and surrounds. I love painting with vibrant, vivid tones to capture man's relationship with nature. My family and I are now living in the south coast of NSW. I am surrounded by amazing landscapes that continue to inspire my passion, and I am constantly trying to express this through my art.
