When I lived in Sydney I was an avid ocean swimmer. Bronte baths and the bogey hole was a place I used to frequent along with other beaches on the Eastern suburbs. This painting was when I was arriving at the pool for a swim. The ocean pools in Sydney are an amazingly historical marvel, which means a lot to the inhabitants of the Eastern beaches.
I grew up in New Zealand in a very scenic coastal town, so the dramatic sweeping landscapes influenced me at an early age. I moved to Sydney in 1989 and from 1999 I lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney where I rekindled a passion for landscape art. The diverse flora of the eastern suburbs influenced my palette, drawing me into the colour and magic of Sydney's coastline and surrounds. I love painting with vibrant, vivid tones to capture man's relationship with nature. My family and I are now living in the south coast of NSW. I am surrounded by amazing landscapes that continue to inspire my passion, and I am constantly trying to express this through my art.
