In full bloom

While in the Blue mountains i visited the Rhododendron Garden in Blackheath. It was in spring, and the garden was in full bloom with the most brilliant and intense colours, in stark contrast to the muted colours of the Australian bush. This painting is acrylic on canvas, complimented with a beautiful light brown frame.

I grew up in New Zealand in a very scenic coastal town, so the dramatic sweeping landscapes influenced me at an early age. I moved to Sydney in 1989 and from 1999 I lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney where I rekindled a passion for landscape art. The diverse flora of the eastern suburbs influenced my palette, drawing me into the colour and magic of Sydney's coastline and surrounds. I love painting with vibrant, vivid tones to capture man's relationship with nature. My family and I are now living in the south coast of NSW. I am surrounded by amazing landscapes that continue to inspire my passion, and I am constantly trying to express this through my art.
