Morning Light

I painted this piece after I had been to Jervis Bay, NSW. While going to the beach in the early morning the sunlight was shining through the bush onto the snow gums. The sun was lighting up the trees and giving them a surreal look. This is a painting that would lift up a room with its vibrant and vivid colours.

I grew up in New Zealand in a very scenic coastal town, so the dramatic sweeping landscapes influenced me at an early age. I moved to Sydney in 1989 and from 1999 I lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney where I rekindled a passion for landscape art. The diverse flora of the eastern suburbs influenced my palette, drawing me into the colour and magic of Sydney's coastline and surrounds. I love painting with vibrant, vivid tones to capture man's relationship with nature. My family and I are now living in the south coast of NSW. I am surrounded by amazing landscapes that continue to inspire my passion, and I am constantly trying to express this through my art.
