Artwork Description

After holidaying in New Zealand, I painted this piece. We stayed on the west coast of the North Island near Raglan. This is Raglan while walking down to the beach. It has the rugged land and black volcanic sand reminiscent of the west coast. A painting for a place by the beach.

Artist Bio

I grew up in New Zealand in a very scenic coastal town, so the dramatic sweeping landscapes influenced me at an early age. I moved to Sydney in 1989 and from 1999 I lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney where I rekindled a passion for landscape art. The diverse flora of the eastern suburbs influenced my palette, drawing me into the colour and magic of Sydney's coastline and surrounds. I love painting with vibrant, vivid tones to capture man's relationship with nature. My family and I are now living in the south coast of NSW. I am surrounded by amazing landscapes that continue to inspire my passion, and I am constantly trying to express this through my art.
