This large-scale painting is my personal love letter to Vincent van Gogh’s masterpiece, Café Terrace at Night—a piece I have deeply admired and painted several copies of over the years.
After a years-long search to find the perfect contemporary Australian location to capture that iconic mood, I discovered it at Brisbane's Eagle Street Pier. While sketching for an entirely different project, the vision clicked perfectly. The scene features the vibrant energy of Riverbar, nestled beneath the glowing backdrop of Fridays.
Originally exhibited as part of the Pyrate exhibition at the B.Lowe Gallery in Brisbane, this commanding artwork is designed to anchor a room. With its rich atmosphere and striking scale, it is an ideal statement piece for a modern, stylish home or an elegant restaurant. It is sure to be a captivating conversation starter in any space it inhabits.
