Sometimes inspiration can come from the simplest of everyday objects. A humble pair of RM Williams boots and a Stockman’s Akubra. I’ve tried to capture the soft warm light from the window shining on this still life. There’s lots of texture to capture the felt of the hat, the worn leather of the boots and the reflections on the polished wood table. This is a wonderful piece to warm up any room.
Hello everyone, my name is Michael Morgan and I am a passionate artist living with a disability from the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Art is my passion. My purpose. My everything. It is what gets me through each day and is a real source of motivation in times of need. I am a self-taught artist who is heavily inspired by the impressionist and post-impressionist movement. My journey into art began after being diagnosed with a rare and incurable auto-immune disease. Art became my source of comfort, escapism and companionship. I had found a way of being able to express all my inner emotions onto a canvas in a way that my body was no longer able to due to the debilitating nature of my condition. Art has enabled me a freedom to travel and explore imaginary worlds that bring me immense pleasure in life’s darkest days.
