Artwork Description

I have a deep love for the Australian outback. There’s something incredibly poetic about the life of the humble stockman. I have recently found great enjoyment painting quiet campfire scenes capturing that beautiful dappled light and atmosphere. The linen was stretched by myself and I also hand crafted the floating frame from local oak. This is a beautiful piece to warm up any room.

Artist Bio

Hello everyone, my name is Michael Morgan and I am a passionate artist living with a disability from the Sunshine Coast, Australia.
Art is my passion. My purpose. My everything. It is what gets me through each day and is a real source of motivation in times of need. I am a self-taught artist who is heavily inspired by the impressionist and post-impressionist movement. My journey into art began after being diagnosed with a rare and incurable auto-immune disease. Art became my source of comfort, escapism and companionship. I had found a way of being able to express all my inner emotions onto a canvas in a way that my body was no longer able to due to the debilitating nature of my condition. Art has enabled me a freedom to travel and explore imaginary worlds that bring me immense pleasure in life’s darkest days.
