Michael began painting while in Germany in 2017. Beginning with small acrylic works used as communication tools to stand in for his lack of ability to speak the German language, completed while institutionalised in the city of Hamburg. These original works are still on display in his studio and offer a window into a strange internal world.
Now settled in Torquay, Victoria, he paints out of small studio in which he displays both his own work and the work of marginalised local artists.
His work focuses mostly on sex, religion and the ever present nature of looming death. He now paints mostly on self built, large scale canvases.
To view his work in person visit YPSILON STUDIO 31a Baines crescent, Torquay, Victoria, 3228.
