Right from an early age I have always been fascinated with small things and detail. My mother was always encouraging me to look closely at the way things are made and the amazing design in nature. When I moved to the North of NSW about 10 years ago, my creative side was reactivated. My husband is a real inspiration to me. He also gives me support, as he too enjoys the unpredictability of watercolors.
I love the way watercolours constantly surprise you with a new outcome but always teaching you a new way of looking at things. Watercolours are my main medium. but I have tinkered with acrylics and I also enjoy doing a bit of thread art during the cooler months. Oils and Gouache are still something I would like to explore more. Time is so elusive.
Attention to detail and light is something that really inspires me and I love to capture. One of the things that drew me to move to this part of Australia was some dear friends (mother and daughter duo) who are very talented artists. We would write to each other and share little creations (paintings, drawings, sketches). I learnt a lot from the way they both approach their artworks. I still gain a lot from their wealth of knowledge. I hope to keep learning and improving on my little creative adventure.
