Fern Bottle Vase

Nature, earthy, movement were words that came to mind when creating this bottle shaped vase. The silhouette of a fern has been hand carved into this beautiful earthy stoneware clay, leaving the forest green showing for the background. this carving method is known as sgraffito.

The vessel can be displayed just as is, or it can be a functional water vase for cut flowers.

I am a mixed media artist based in Central Queensland Australia. I have explored many styles of painting and pottery in the course of my 30 year career. I have now settled into my happy place, combining the two mediums.

My passion is creating beautiful artwork onto hand built ceramic pieces, which are mainly constructed using slabs of fine white stoneware.
