I started painting this on a miserable cold day. Grey skies, rain and an awful cold front rolling on in had left me feeling down in the dumps and in a funk. I wanted to paint something to help lift my spirits. What better thing to paint then bright happy sunflowers. There bright sunny faces and contrasting blue sky made me feel warm again.
