Queensland based artist Michelle Oakden explores the abstract world using bold, vibrant colours and organic shapes. She's originally an engineer by trade but loves the contrast of diving into the creativity of abstract artwork. Through her artwork Michelle feels the joy in creating something that's intriguing and beautiful, without needing it to achieve a specific technical function other than to be enjoyed! She currently works mainly with acrylic inks and metallics on watercolour paper. Michelle's creative side is inspired by cosmic chaos, the ocean, glorious pink/purple/violet/burnt orange sunsets... anything with colour really! Her artwork is truly an expression of being in the moment and capturing how that feels.
