Artwork Description

“Feathered Serenade" weaves a narrative of connection and communication through the vibrant language of colors and symbols. The red-haired woman embodies passion and vitality, her fiery locks echoing the intensity of the pink backdrop. The Major Mitchell Cockatoo, with its distinctive and flamboyant plumage, adds an element of elegance and majesty to the composition.

In harmony with its counterpart, this second piece, adorned with a luscious pink background, introduces a red-haired woman as its central figure. A Majestic Major Mitchell Cockatoo gracefully perches on her shoulder, creating a striking visual symphony that resonates with the spirit of the natural world. Together, these two artworks, each with its unique symbolism, form a captivating duet—a testament to the enchanting dance between humanity and the wonders of the avian realm.

As the woman and the cockatoo share a moment, "Feathered Serenade" invites viewers to explore the intricate relationship between humans and the feathered inhabitants of our planet. The title itself suggests a melodic interplay, a harmonious exchange of energies between two beings—one terrestrial and one aerial—creating a visual melody that resonates with the same spirit as its counterpart, "Spirit Song." These artworks form a harmonious duet, inviting the audience to embark on a journey of introspection and appreciation for the interconnectedness of all living things.

Artist Bio

Moving from the big smoke has given Michelle the opportunity to pursue a passion for Art that she had left behind decades ago, and at 50 decided it was time to see 'if I still had it’... Michelle studied Art in High School, but I’d never dared to pursue it as a career, until she did! Studing Art Therapy in 2019 Michelle was encouraged to pick up a paint brush and it changed her life!

Living on the NSW South Coast, Michelle enjoys the sounds of our Kookaburra’s laughing, the screeching Lorikeets and the warbling Magpies and this has inspired her to paint their vibrancy that is captured in her Art.

When Michelle is not painting she is encouraging others to get in touch with their own creativity by picking up a paint brush, get their hands in the paint and enjoy an “Expressive Art Experience” (or two)... Thanks to Michelle's Art journey, she has been able to find her true essence and now helps others do the same.
