Artwork Description

This is a long-exposure panoramic photograph of the Brisbane skyline taken from Kangaroo Point. The intention was to almost complete Green Bridge which was under construction at the time.

I found it fascinating that even though the images depicted a construction site it didn't detract from the beauty of the scene. The orange buoys in the river and stacked beneath the crane provide a contrasting pop against the blue and green tones of the early morning light. The milky river water adds to the quietness of the morning before the city comes alive to accommodate a busy day.

Artist Bio

I started in photography late in life and still kick myself when I think of all the opportunities missed. After all, I spent 20 years in the Royal Australian Navy and then worked in ex-pat jobs in Africa and PNG. It wasn't until I purchased a decent camera to go on a holiday to Europe with my wife in 2013, that I took a more serious interest. I work on a variety of genres that include scapes, portraiture and action sports. I'm still developing as a photographer and I just need to match the constant inspiration I see with the notion of getting out there amongst it. I hope you enjoy my work.
