Artwork Description

This is a photograph of a derelict homestead just outside Grandchester Queensland. The image captures what time and neglect can do to a structure, but also depicts the building's almost willingness to stay standing.

It's as if the overgrown vegetation is keeping it from falling in on itself completely and the parts that have collapsed ask the question of whether will they disappear completely over time.

Artist Bio

I started in photography late in life and still kick myself when I think of all the opportunities missed. After all, I spent 20 years in the Royal Australian Navy and then worked in ex-pat jobs in Africa and PNG. It wasn't until I purchased a decent camera to go on a holiday to Europe with my wife in 2013, that I took a more serious interest. I work on a variety of genres that include scapes, portraiture and action sports. I'm still developing as a photographer and I just need to match the constant inspiration I see with the notion of getting out there amongst it. I hope you enjoy my work.
