The sunlit monolith of Half Dome sits high above Yosemite Valley's National Park, California. The park draws rock climbers and tourists alike from all around the world. youthful memories of two and a half days on that 2,200 foot wall in an ocean of rich pink granite. As I painted I was reminded of it's line and features, such as 'big sandy' and 'the thank god ledge'. Bringing a smile to my face in the security and familiarity of my studio.
