Shadows and light play on the magical north side of Mt Kenya, 5199 m. The Diamond Couloir is the ribbon of ice that drops from the Diamond Glacier separating the twin summits of Batian and Nelion.
This rocky, moon like landscape sitting on the equator is prolific in giant Senecio Keniodendron and Lobelia Telekii plants and is home to the marmot like Rock Hyrax.
My aim was to capture rich orange granite and the lush foliage of high alpine plants as they slowly emerge from the shadows of the delicate early morning light.
