Predominantly self-taught, Mikki originates from Canberra but now calls the Gold Coast home.
Mikki has drawn, painted and doodled since childhood. She loved creating fantasy worlds for herself and today her art displays that fantasy but with more vibrant and seductive details that uplift her viewers’ spirits.
She paints with mostly acrylics and posca art pens. Where possible, Mikki is drawn to the use of recycled materials caring about our carbon footprint on earth.
Mikki has sold her works successfully locally, nationally and internationally. She has received awards in community exhibitions.
Instantly noticeable is Mikki’s love of colour to produce bold textures that showcase her creativity, moods and spiritual states. She does not adhere to any one style although when asked she admitted to being drawn to the term “Colourist” and "Niave" in terms of her art. Mikki tends to be influenced in her expression by experiences in life. These days her works demonstrate “Joy” rather than “Dark”.
Some say Mikki’s style reflects some Indigenous Art techniques not just from Australia but worldwide. Her response is that she has a soul connection to many indigenous cultures that constantly spark her creativity
