I pass by this banksia tree each time I visit my local bush. This particular tree has so much character, with its gnarled bark and prominent position on the track, I thought it made an excellent painting subject. It was a joy and a challenge to capture its personality in this painting.
This is a smaller painting and would make a great addition to walls, or filling gaps between other artworks.
Painted plein air on location, gouache on paper. Signed on front with certificate on back.
Framed by the artist in a dark brown, knotted timber frame that matches the wood of the painting.
