This is my very first Gold Dot piece I created. I have been holding onto it and haven't been able to let it go for so long. It has been exhibited in many exhibitions as display only and not for sale. I also exhibited it digitally as a 3D video form, a spinning mandala of many layers, at countless major music festivals in Australia and overseas. Many have enquired to purchase this piece, however, it has been irreplaceable to me. The purity and innocence of this very first Gold Dot creation for me is something that can never be repeated.
And so here is the story of how this piece was born .. I exhibited video art as a VJ for many years. On one of my tours with an Australian Indigenous group, one day I stood in front of an Indigenous Art Gallery in Tasmania with one of the artists. I was getting lost in a floating sensation staring at one of the dot artworks. The dots faded out in different colour shades creating a sense of three dimensions and perspective. I had never seen a piece like it before. I said out loud, wow, I wish I could do that. The Indigenous music artist standing next to me said, why not. My response was, I don't want to offend someone else's culture by dotting, even though dots had been very prevalent in my video and canvas artwork. I didn't feel I had the right to do a full, dot only piece. The artist that was with me said, a dot is a dot. Then he told me about pointillism and the story behind it. I felt so freed to hear this.
As soon as I returned to Melbourne from the tour, I went straight into Eckersley's and purchased a canvas, and black and gold paint. I spent a whole week just with this artwork, allowing Spirit to guide me along the way, rather than attempting to create a pre-imagined piece.
Every time I stepped back from the artwork I was amazed at what was being created. Working on it close up was a totally different experience to then seeing what was being created by stepping back. I wasn't creating it. I was being guided. I was just a tool for Spirit to come through me.
The experience of creating this piece was just Love, a huge feeling of Love and Freedom, just as it was, coming through me. Love As Is.
Finally after years of holding onto it I feel that it needs to be with a collector, who will appreciate its purity and beauty, and its peace. May its energy spread further and further beyond me and my own physical space.

Gold represents the colour of the purest, highest vibrational, reflective light. Black canvas represents the pure, silent, still, all-encompassing darkness, out of which visions may be born.
I attempt to create purely, in the moment, as a part of nature and a part of life, a part of the larger 'whole' of the universe, with the intent to capture human intelligence that reaches beyond a personally desired outcome, even beyond personal understanding, an intelligence of the moment, a moment of organic nature.
My work explores the nature of the human, and Nature itself."

FRAMING
This artwork is framed as a scroll style frame: black 1.5 inch wide pine slats installed across the bottom and the top of the painting, with a wire on the back ready for hanging. This allows the artwork to be rolled up and packaged in a tube, greatly reducing framing and shipping costs. These savings are passed directly on to my collectors. The scroll frame can be easily removed and the artwork stretched or framed to your liking.
