Artwork Description

Geometric Abstraction | Painted freehand

As an abstract painter, I am constantly drawn to the enigmatic and captivating nature of light. Defined as electromagnetic radiation that is detectable by the human eye, light is an elusive force that has captivated humans for centuries.
Yet, despite its ubiquity, the true nature of light remains shrouded in mystery. What is it made of? Where does it come from? How does it make colors work? And, perhaps most intriguingly, what is its purpose?
These are questions that have fueled my artistic curiosity and inspired me to embark on a new project - "In Search of Light." Through my work, I hope to explore the many dimensions of light, both visible and invisible, and to discover the secrets that lie hidden within its radiant glow.
So join me on this journey of discovery, as we delve into the fascinating world of light and unlock the mysteries that lie within.

Artist Bio

Min Ray is a contemporary abstract artist based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, known for creating striking original artworks that bring clarity, energy, and balance to modern interiors.

Her practice spans bold hard-edged geometric abstraction and softer, tactile organic works, offering collectors a choice between vibrant visual impact and calm, refined presence.

Min’s colourful geometric paintings are celebrated for their confident structure, dynamic colour relationships, and architectural strength, making them ideal statement pieces for contemporary living spaces.

Alongside these, her more organic abstract works introduce texture and softness, designed to enhance interiors with a sense of calm and quiet sophistication.

Collectors are drawn to Min’s work for its ability to transform a space — whether through bold visual energy or subtle, harmonious restraint.
