Born in Romania, Mirela Streza grew up surrounded by art and history, museums, galleries and was impossible not to fall in love with all things creative.
Originally trained as an engineer, Mirela organically drifted towards creative fields and encouraged by her husband and two children, she obtain a bachelor degree in Fine Arts.
She's been calling Sunshine Coast home for the past 6 years, and this is where she works and creates inspired by nature and everyday life.
Her subject matter is universal and her preffered medium is acrylic. With each painting she presents a new vantage point from which to consider identity, place, time and memory. Through colours and processes, with every brush stroke, line, circle and dot she celebrates the everyday, the banal and the ordinary often overlooked and taken for granted.
Mirela's intention is to bring joy and comfort to her viewers and collectors, allowing them to escape the urban noise and to immerse in colours and meditative details.
