Artwork Description

We are destroying animal species and habitats rapidly. We have a choice to make now; does this species disappear or re-appear? It's up to us.

Artist Bio

(Miriam (Mim) Ferrall) I am a relative newcomer to the art world having undertaken my first art lesson in 2009 but not progressing much further until, in 2018 after a Parkinson's Disease diagnosis, I gave up full-time paid work to spend more time in the studio.
Moving to the beautiful southern Fleuerieu Peninsula in South Australia has provided the most relaxing and inspirational backdrop to drive my focus.
Beginners Charcoal Drawing classes in 2016 drew me to an enthusiasm for animal studies, and the dramatic use of contrast not only in my charcoals, but also my oil paintings.
Most recently I have developed an enthusiasm for painting birds and land/seascapes.
My work continues to evolve as more time is spent in the studio.
I have been fortunate to have been short-listed for art shows/awards and have won First Prizes and Commendations in most that I have been short-listed for.
I have also sold quite a few paintings and am honoured to have been asked t do more than a dozen commissions since starting my painting journey.
