Insect Evolution is part of a series exploring the Apocalypse through the eyes of the insects.
This work is part of my adventures exploring Surrealism and the Dreamspace we inhabit. Part of a larger series exploring the evolution of natural phenomena and the ways in which Environmental Change leads to Philosophical Change.

All work begins with hand drawn illustrations and paintings as well as original photographs and block prints/screen prints then evolves through digital collage techniques.

This is a hand made print on Museum Quality German Etching Textured Paper.

Artist Bio

Miriam Hart is a mixed media artist based out of her home studio in the Rainforest of Southern Queensland. Her art process evolved out of her lifestyle, living off grid in an eco community, growing food, learning from the botanical world and raising her young daughters at home. Time is spent together homesteading and making music and art as a daily practice.

Miriam completed an Advanced Diploma at Sydney Film Institute and the University of Sydney where she specialised in Cinematography and Documentary Film. She has a Bachelor of Arts from UNSW and The University of Sydney and has completed a total of ten years of study in Philosophy/Sociology and Cultural Studies.

Miriam has spent many years focused on Activism and Art related to Environmental Protection and also Human Rights.

Her subject matter has grown out of her deep devotion to the natural environment and her activist journey. Her art process involves mixed media experimentation, often combining Photography with hand drawn pieces which evolve into digital collages ready to make into limited edition prints.

Most of her art can be made to order in any size and print quality required.
