Artwork Description

Gravity

A table becomes a sky.

Two figures orbit one another across a field of blue — suspended somewhere between intimacy and distance. The table holds everything in place: fruit, bread, wine, small offerings scattered like constellations, each object quietly pulled into the centre of their shared space.

Around them, the world loosens. Brushstrokes drift, dissolve, refuse to settle — as if gravity has weakened beyond the table’s edge. What remains is this moment of connection, weighted not by realism, but by attention.

There is a tenderness in the reaching, in the half-gestures, in what is almost said.
A quiet pull between bodies.
A soft insistence that we are always, somehow, held.

Artist Bio

My work explores psychological space through a fluid approach to figuration, still life, and abstraction — examining the subtle dynamics that unfold within shared environments.

Using recurring motifs of tables, vessels, and gathered forms, I construct compositions that hold tension and intimacy without relying on overt narrative. Elements of abstraction are used to dissolve boundaries, allowing atmosphere and emotion to take precedence over description.

I am drawn to restrained palettes, softened contrasts, and the role of light in shaping emotional tone. Each painting seeks to distil a quiet intensity — balancing presence and absence, form and feeling, within the picture plane.

Originally trained in landscape architecture, my practice is grounded in an understanding of spatial relationships — how bodies, objects, and environments coexist and influence one another. This sensitivity to space carries through my work, where a table can become a horizon and an interior can hold the weight of a landscape.

Based in Melbourne, my practice is shaped by motherhood and the heightened awareness it brings — of time, proximity, and the emotional charge embedded within everyday moments.
