Let me introduce you to Eucalyptus Macracarpa!
This is a small decorative tree that is found only in Western Australia and it is one of my absolute favourite flowers! I have so many photographs of this flower in all its stages of growth from the pristine white powder coated pod to the fat exploding flower after it has burst from the pod. I decide to narrow down my favourites to 6 x Drawings. As the other have already sold it seemed my portfolio was empty without a Eucalyptus Macrocarpa in it. This is Study 4 w here I have tried to capture the profile of the this beautiful flower as it explodes out into the world.
It has huge smooth leathery leaves in a soft blue silver grey that start out the size of a coin and can sometimes grow to the size of your hand. They are sculptural in their shape and give the plant an otherworldly look.
They have the most distinctive and stunning red flowers that literally pop their lid from inside the pod. A firecracker of a flower that explodes from inside the pod to showcase this gorgeous watermelon red.
Only nature would have this silvery blue as a backdrop to this bright red creating such a beautiful colour combination.
This is the fourth of the sixth study ... I just adore them! Hope you do too.
This drawing leaves the studio unframed so the you can take advantage of the Bluethumb framing service to have the artwork framed so that it fits into your world in the right frame.
Should be noted the interior shot and framing shots are suggestions and may not be to scale so please check the measurements.
