AMAZING ZOE

I asked my friend actress Zoe Tuckwell-Smith if I could make a portrait of her to enter Archibald Prize in 2013. I wanted to express the multiplicity of characters she can show on stage. This is one of the studies I did. Inspired by Picasso of course. Many of my works pursue the theme of women, and I use my own language of painting to express humans feelings. And my own without a doubt.
This painting is ready to hang. The edges of the canvas are painted in black.

I was born in Paris where I have been an interior designer for 25 years. I am influenced by Dali‚ De Chirrico‚ Picasso‚ Gaudi. I am fascinated by the female form‚ it’s curves and lines and the affects of light upon them. Also very much inspired by Mother Nature. After living in the Royal National Park South of Sydney where I was part of the local art trail, I now live in the Southern Highlands. I love to hear the kookaburras. I feel very lucky to work in such environment. Favorite materials: oil‚ acrylic‚ resin‚ gold leaf‚ clay‚ wood.
