Artwork Description

This painting uses Hard-edge abstraction in vivid contrasts of colours, inspired by another Australian seascape at Wilson's promontory which offers a contrast between the shore, sea and sky.

Artist Bio

Mohamed Abarda is a Moroccan-born screenwriter and visual artist who currently lives and works in Rye, Victoria.

His artistic approach is genuinely nourished by his North African heritage among other European influences and patterns.

His interest in nature and its expressions leads him to set up a language that extends beyond abstract style and retraces an insight through a poetic rendering.

His artworks blend a frontality of abstract landscape paintings in such colours that have long embellished the arts of Morocco.

Mohamed proudly works on Bunurong, Boon Wurrung, country and pays respects to their Elders past and present and extends that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
