Born and brought up in Sri Lanka, I have been fortunate enough to live and travel across Europe, the Middle East and North America for education and work. The rich cultures and natural beauty of my surroundings inspired me to explore my passion for art from a very early age. A self taught artist, I have explored numerous mediums and styles throughout my career and have been commissioned to paint portraits, landscapes, abstracts and still life.
Today, my signature style is abstract acrylics. My love for this style of painting grew from the freedom to use a broad spectrum of colours in order to capture the energy and form of the subjects that intrigued me.
I currently reside in Melbourne since migrating to Australia in 1996. After retiring from my Engineering career, I have been running my own picture framing business from home for the last seven years. I have exhibited my artwork at the Waverley Art Society and at the Islamic Museum of Australia in Thornbury. “Kaleidoscope” was my solo exhibition in March 2018 at The Highway Gallery, Mount Waverley.
