The medinas are full of movement — colour layered on colour, voices folding into each other, the air thick with spice, dust and heat. This moment was taken amongst the busyness, where simple architecture holds centuries of pattern and wear, often looked at, but rarely seen.
Working at the intersection of photography and art, I’ve captured the moment and invited time back in. The image holds the place as it was; paint and pen overlays invite you in and ask you to stay a while longer. Warm yellows and oranges echo the energy of the streets, while teal lines pull your eye into quieter edges and hidden details, soft, quiet and calm.
This piece is an invitation into the opposite of where it was born from — into stillness and a small pocket of peace. The kind that reveals itself slowly, the longer you live with it.
