Emotional Rain

I named this piece "Emotional Rain" because of the amount of emotion that went into it during its process. It took me six months to feel like this piece was finished. I think during the process of creating this painting I really learnt what it was to let go and surrender to our human emotions and understand that emotion is and important part of our human design. The rain is presented in many colours because emotion comes in many different forms, anger, happiness, joy, sadness, each colour represents an emotion. The symbol of the umbrella is significant of not allowing our emotions to get the better of us'.
It is painted with acrylic paints and details of gold leaf gilding.. It looks brilliant when the sunlight hits it.

I ‘am an intuitive artist based in Melbourne and I work with acrylic paint on canvas and digital media. I also incorporate gilding techniques in some of my artworks. I have created art for over the last 10 years and currently studying at university, completing a Bachelor of Fine Art and visual culture, focusing on art history and in particular Renaissance and fine art. Although i have a passion and love for fine art, my artworks are almost total opposite to that of the finer artworks. I really enjoy the idea of forming an image in a non "traditional" way and playing with color especially. Experimenting with different contrasts and pushing my limits with color.
