The Celebration

This image is inspired by photos i had found of my grandparents when they were very young in the 60’s and they had just arrived in Australia from Italy. When they arrived to Australia they threw many parties at their home where they would eventually met new people and created community within their neighbourhood. This image celebrates that old school sense of community that almost feels a little lost now in the modern world.

I ‘am an intuitive artist based in Melbourne and I work with acrylic paint on canvas and digital media. I also incorporate gilding techniques in some of my artworks. I have created art for over the last 10 years and currently studying at university, completing a Bachelor of Fine Art and visual culture, focusing on art history and in particular Renaissance and fine art. Although i have a passion and love for fine art, my artworks are almost total opposite to that of the finer artworks. I really enjoy the idea of forming an image in a non "traditional" way and playing with color especially. Experimenting with different contrasts and pushing my limits with color.
