Artwork Description

This painting was influenced by my love for capturing texture and expression in animals. Bulldogs have such character in their wrinkles, and I wanted to use thick impasto brushwork to show the softness of the skin and the weight of the head resting on the floor. My focus was on the warmth in the eye and the layered pinks and browns in the muzzle, giving the portrait a tactile, emotional presence.
