Coming home to Roost

My love of bright colour and folk art, especially the work of Karoly Reich, a Hungarian illustrator, has influenced my style. I love the contrast of the colour on the black background in this painting.

I’m a keen dabbler in all things creative. My painting reflects my profession, which is originally a Kindergarten teacher. I draw my inspiration from colour, colour, colour! It’s become obvious to me that the picture books of my childhood, and illustrators such as Eric Carle and Reich Caroly are very visible in all that I create
