Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
Although I have been busy creating a body of work (Aussie landscapes) for my first joint exhibition in October, I have managed to squeeze in this floral work. This is one of my mixed media piece using Art Spectrum pigmented inks and acrylics on deep edge gallery wrapped stretched canvas. Seeing as I love pink and turquoise, this image just spoke to me, pick me! Pick me! Lolx.
My first step was dropping the pigmented inks onto the canvas, spraying water onto it, picking it up and move it around to let the colours mingle a bit, even made use of my fingers to move the colours around. I covered the canvas with glad wrap and let dry overnight. The glad wrap creates textured lines throughout. It took me a couple of months to get back to it.
It was when I came across this image on Pixabay that I knew this was what I was looking for. A macro image of a daisy.
For the background I used Art Spectrum pigment inks and Atelier Interactive Acrylics for the design and Chromacryl Impasto gel for the centre of the daisy.
