Artwork Description

I met with World Champion Surfer, Layne Beachley, in Manly. The portrait was meant to be part of an exhibition celebrating influential females painted by female artists, with plans to travel Australia and then overseas. Covid put a halt on that, but it was a wonderful opportunity to paint Layne’s portrait regardless.
It is fascinating that up close you can see so much of the brown background and individual contrasting colours, but as you move back the portrait comes together. It is things like this that drive me to create.

Artist Bio

My art is a journey into the language of colour—exploring why certain hues stir emotions, evoke memories, or awaken a sense of nostalgia. I’m captivated by how colours work together, and I’m equally fascinated by how others experience them. Through my vibrant and experimental works, I aim to spark connection, inviting viewers to reflect on their own feelings, preferences, and stories.
