Golden Echoes

Part of the Structured Light Series, Golden Echoes combines faceted forms, flowing contours, and measured rhythm within a carefully structured composition. Defined forms create a strong sense of order, while flowing elements keep the surface visually active.

Layered passages and reflective details introduce subtle changes as light moves across the painting. Rather than directing attention toward one central point, the composition distributes visual interest across the surface, encouraging the eye to move between different forms and areas.

The balance between structure and movement gives the work a refined architectural quality without losing its fluid character. It reflects the Structured Light Series through its emphasis on geometric organisation, rhythm, light, and spatial clarity.

Morvarid Dastjerdi is a Sydney-based contemporary abstract artist whose practice explores how painting can create a different quality of attention, opening space for personal perceptual engagement with relationships. She creates layered abstract works in which light, movement, rhythm, texture, colour, and space interact across the surface. Light plays a central role, shaping both the composition and the way visual relationships change with movement, viewpoint, and surrounding conditions.

Dastjerdi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film Directing, and her multidisciplinary background in cinema, theatre, and design informs her sensitivity to composition, movement, atmosphere, and visual attention. In selected works, she integrates circular mirrors into the painted surface as material and perceptual elements. Through reflection, these mirrors bring aspects of the viewer and surrounding environment into the visual field, creating a changing relationship between artwork, viewer, light, and space.
