About

Myra is a self taught artist with a passion for painting colourful abstracts. She came from Scotland to live in Melbourne, Australia with her family when she was 10 years old. She studied and worked as a psychologist. Myra has always been a creative person and has spent time over the years learning painting, drawing, mosaics, and ceramics. She enjoys using her artistic skills in many areas of her life and at one stage attended university to study interior decorating. Myra has painted for a number of years for family and friends and her artwork has been much loved by those receiving it. Myra has had one solo exhibition and has recently had artworks shown in a number of art shows. She looks forward to building on that as she stands at the precipice of a new life direction.

From the Artist:
'I am an abstract painter who enjoys working with acrylics. I love using bright colours and various textures in my work. I am always excited to discover the path that a painting will take as I explore the synergy of vibrant colours and textures. I can hardly wait to go in to my studio in the morning to check how a painting looks once it has dried. I aim to create works of art that are unique and give a sense of joy and celebration. I use my garden for inspiration. Nature renews my creative spirit. I delight in the secret garden spaces I have created and in bringing that energy to my paintings. Painting is the most joyful activity I can imagine and I am thrilled to think I can share that feeling through my paintings.
