Red Still Life

Vibrant contemporary still life in reds, maroons, dark greens and blue. Depicting a tea tray and vessels and a background of green plants. Whenever I'm planning a new still life painting, I gather up objects from my kitchen dining or studio shelves and arrange the objects to tell a story.

Myra Staffa is an Australian Contemporary Artist who creates paintings and works in fused glass. Myra is inspired by the natural world, landscape and still life objects. She likes to experience a site first hand to get a connection to and a sense of place about the subject she is researching. She takes photographs, makes drawings and notes on location and processes these back in the studio. Myra has exhibited around Australia, her work appears in public and private collections including the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
A graduate of Curtin University and formally a part time lecturer at NMTAFE, Myra has had a long career in art education.
