White Still Life

It all started with the pair of retro mugs and a cute little jug I found in an Op Shop. I gathered up some of my 'white' still life objects and placed them into new combinations. I added the lemons to the white bowl and the yellow colour was picked in the glossy white surfaces ... white isn't just white!

Myra Staffa is an Australian Contemporary Artist who creates paintings and works in fused glass. Myra is inspired by the natural world, landscape and still life objects. She likes to experience a site first hand to get a connection to and a sense of place about the subject she is researching. She takes photographs, makes drawings and notes on location and processes these back in the studio. Myra has exhibited around Australia, her work appears in public and private collections including the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
A graduate of Curtin University and formally a part time lecturer at NMTAFE, Myra has had a long career in art education.
