Artist Bio

Nada Ljoljic is an emerging artist, who was only able to dedicate more time to her love of painting after becoming an empty nester and reducing her working hours. Nada is now enjoying creating textured, colourful and vibrant abstract pieces, her works are intuitive; she pours all her energy, passion and emotion into each piece she creates. Her process involves preparing canvases by using different media such as modelling paste, sand and fabric dipped in plaster to create different textures. Her pieces are characterised by bold colours, raw emotional brush strokes and extensive texturing and layering. Nada focuses on experimenting with a range of techniques, styles and subjects.
Nada’s works are all designed from her day-to-day inspiration. She lives on the outskirts of Sydney Australia and is lucky enough to live close to the Blue Mountains. She often visits Sydney beaches and likes the rich earthy colours of the outback. There are a number of artists that influenced Nada’s work, but her biggest influence is the work of Spanish visual artist Sergio Aranda, his use of textures, layering, various mediums and Wabi Sabi themed pieces.
Having grown up in Bosnia and Herzegovina (in the former European country of Yugoslavia), Nada settled in Australia in the late 1990s. She holds a bachelor's degree in social science/welfare and has been working in the disability field for over 25 years. Nada is very passionate about her work; she finds people with disabilities very inspiring in their resilience and ability to adapt to whatever challenge life throws at them. After raising two beautiful children (now two lovely men) and with the love and support of her husband, she has now decided that it is time to reduce her working hours and to step up her painting by creating beautiful pieces that can hopefully bring as much joy to the buyers as they do to her.
All Nada’s works come with a Certificate of Authenticity and are carefully packed to ensure the artwork arrives to buyers in perfect condition.
