Artwork Description

This textured artwork is a true statement piece. A beautiful merging of fluidity and form, multiple layers of deep blues and teals over areas of texture, highlighted with a hint of gold and a little rust. This work was inspired by the beautiful views over the Sapphire Coast at twilight, when the sky is at its most dramatic and the low light over the horizon creates the most amazing reflections. Its immersive and dreamy, and works in a variety of spaces.
Framed in a walnut stained timber frame, titled and signed on the back and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Artist Bio

Nadine Hobson is a Melbourne based artist, a lifelong creative and self confessed perpetual daydreamer. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful, diverse beauty of the Australian landscape, including the Dandenong Ranges where she grew up, Nadine creates textured abstracts that reflect nature’s colour palettes, while also reflecting an otherworldly, dreamlike quality; and as such, fondly refers to her paintings as ‘dreamscapes’. Works are created from a deeply emotional connection to country and place, conveying mood, emotion and a tangible representation of an experience in nature.

Further layered into each piece is inspiration derived from music. Every artwork is named for a particularly meaningful song or lyric that wends its way through the creative process, and ultimately coincides with the overall mood of the finished work. For Nadine, art is intrinsically linked to a love of music and this adds an additional dimension to her practice and completed works.

Emotive and immersive, Nadine works in a highly intuitive way and generally without a fixed idea of exactly what the finished artwork might necessarily be. Instead the focus is on channelling those lived experiences & feelings and allowing the flow state to guide the process. This creative spontaneity allows exploration and experimentation, imbuing the works with a sense of movement and fluidity. There are many tiny details to discover within each piece. This is a result of applying many layers of texture, paint and ink which gives great depth and complexity to the finished works.
