The Dainty Swallowtail (other name Dingy Swallowtail, scientific name Papilio anactus) butterfly is a regular visitor to my garden. This native Australian butterfly loves citrus plants, and is illustrated just the way I found it in my garden – on a native Finger Lime bush.

I managed to get a reference photo of 3 stages of its life cycle together in one shot (caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly) which inspired this detailed life cycle painting. You can see by the close-up image how much time and care went into faithfully painting tiny details of the butterflies and surrounding plants. If you look closely, the butterfly eggs are there too - completing, and continuing, the life cycle.

This original painting is framed in a gorgeous natural timber frame and sage-green mat. It's ready to hang, and bring garden joy into your home or office.

All art by Nadya Neklioudova

Against a soft abstract background gradient, from magenta at top to light yellow at the bottom, stands an Australian Crested Pigeon, viewed directly from the front. He has his head down in a dancing pose, his tail up and fanned out across the top half of the painting, and his wings display his beautiful magenta and green feathers. Delicate patterns grace his plumage as he performs his dance for the viewer. Original watercolour painting by Australian wildlife artist Nadya Neklioudova.A realistic study of Powerful Owl feathers, drawn from life by Nadya Neklioudova. On the right is a large wing feather, spanning from the top to the bottom of the artwork. It has dark-brown and white/pale stripes, and a small blue shadow to the right. The other three, arranged on alternating angles, are small and fluffy feathers with a brown and white chevron pattern.Mixed-media drawing of a female Powerful Owl, on brown-tinted paper (proper art paper, acid-free), which makes the white highlights in the feathers really stand out, and the dark tones recede. The face, eyes, beak and head feathers are exquisitely detailed with fine ink pen lines and pencil shading. In the background are loose diagonal pencil lines, their colour hinting at a bushland forest background. A watercolour portrait of a Dingo, by Nadya Neklioudova. The Dingo's natural, earthy ochre colours stand out on the grassy, natural bushland background of olive-green. There is a gentle softness to this painting, the animal's face and eyes are detailed, while the soft fur fades into the environment.
