I have always had a creative streak which showed in the art room at school. Consequently I applied to the Queensland College of Art and was accepted for a Certificate of Art and Design.
I am primarily a landscape artist and oil paint is my preferred medium.
Like many other artists my inspiration comes from the wonderful Australian landscape. I grew up a wild child playing from sunup to sundown around and in our local creek; mangroves and mud, catching mud crabs and fishing are all fond memories that are still part of me. I now live in the Gold Coast Hinterland surrounded by bush land and with my own creek and having the ocean so close - these old and new images shape the subject matter of my paintings.
Although a realist painter, I would like to lose some of the constraints I place on my brush, so I am constantly exploring ways to improve my art practice and learn new techniques and methods.
