Naomi Crowther’s signature poppy style is revisited here with lusciously thick swooshing petals applied with a palette knife, finished off with silver leaf detailing to catch the light.

This playful abstract painting "Cerulean Blue Poppies'' is an original one off work by the artist.

Inspired by the wild sway of flowers in the breeze, and forms part of Naomi Crowther's Poppies Series.
The painting is a mix of rich ocean blues with a hint of cool turquoise and tiny touches of green, on an abstract background of white, grey and sandy hues.
This artwork is painted on professional-grade canvas stretched and sealed with varnish.

Artist Bio

2026 Bluethumb RISING STAR. Naomi Crowther b1973 Kenthurst. Abstract painter living and working on NSW Far South Coast. Exploring effects of time alone in nature on the human condition, which transcends to a greater understanding of the environment, ourselves, our connections and priorities. Naomi is a multidisciplinary artist working in impasto acrylics, metallic leaf, cyanotypes and hand cut paper. BA Visual Arts ANU (first year only). Diploma of Interior Design RMIT. Recently shown at Gallery Alchemy and Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre. A mid-career artist who's work spans three decades. Her poppies series is licensed across several Australian Defence Force memorabilia brands. The latest lotus series is inspired by a sizeable lotus pond at her rural shared studio near Mogo, NSW. Waterways and rugged beaches near her Surf Beach home and main studio influence the artist's coastal abstract works and oyster series.
