Artwork Description

Huge 206cm x 76cm when stretched. Artist Statement: Every painting tells a story, this painting explores the carefree sway of invisible energy between living things who have a familiarity or have gone through something together. It's also about celebrating the circle of life at every stage. The lotus often conjures up thoughts of a perfectly symmetrical image of a flower in its prime, but in reality the different stages of life are just as important, and sometimes even more memorable, which is why I paint the stages of the flowers, leaves and pods, some bending over after spreading their seeds, some reaching to the sun. Some of my happiest moments have been the super relaxed times when you're with someone, feeling connected, and words simply aren't needed.'

Important to note: ‘Lotus Abstract Connections' is painted on the sides so if stretched without an exterior frame it will still look finished from any angle. The work is sent unstretched (taken into account in the price) rolled in a tube and ready for stretching and or framing. It is much safer for work to travel in a roll and then be delivered to you or directly to the framer. If you select stretching and framing (Bluethumb makes this both super easy and streamlined) I suggest the natural oak frame.

'Lotus Abstract Connections' is a contemporary, gestural fine art abstract, and forms part of Naomi's new 'Lotus Garden' collection. Soothing moss and olive greens, rich ochre, golden toffee and mocha hues plus a dash of duck egg blue make up the colour palette, surrounded by calming off white. Naomi's sweeping brushstrokes and calligraphic freehand marks urge the viewer to lean in close.

Naomi Crowther's studio is on the Far South Coast of NSW, and she takes cues from a local private lotus garden as inspiration for this artwork.
