Artwork Description

‘Sydney Rock Oysters' is a contemporary, gestural fine art abstract of this well known East Coast Australian delicacy. Soothing duck egg blue surrounds sculptural oyster shells in ochre, charcoal and white plus a dash of apricot blush, granite blue and a hint of moss green. Some areas are quite textured, adding to the temptation to lean in close for a truly immersive viewer experience! Naomi's signature sweeping brushstrokes and calligraphic freehand marks are evident in this beautiful piece of original art.

Naomi Crowther's studio is on the Far South Coast of NSW, and she takes cues from a local oyster growers as inspiration for this artwork. 'My time growing up in the Hawkesbury made me a true oyster lover. My brother and I would adventure for hours along the waterways, always with a knife and bush lemon in our pockets. When we felt hungry we'd open oysters straight off the rocks and use the lids to scoop them out. I'll always savour that creamy, fresh sea water taste.' - Naomi.

- Full signature on the front once purchased - choice of landscape or portrait hanging.
