Artwork Description

'The sea, once it casts its spell,
holds one in its net of wonder forever.'
~ JACQUES COUSTEAU

'The Spell of the Sea' is all about the pull, the call, the magic that lures us closer and closer to the sea.

Naomi Crowther's studio is based on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, and she takes cues from this raw, natural environment as a major inspiration for her artwork. 'Spell of the Sea' is about immersing yourself in the wonders of the ocean after it calls to you. Swathes of deep teals and pthalo blue contrast against the shimmering gold leaf, which seems to glow at night.

The edges are 3.8cm thick and the background colours continue around the sides, creating that crisp, gallery look. The detail of this work is mesmerising, your guests will want to lean in to see the details up close.

It comes stretched, wired and ready to hang, is signed with a full signature on the front, plus titled, dated and signed verso with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Your choice of float frames can be added, before checkout, so your painting is delivered completely framed to your door.

Collector Comment: ‘Naomi’s painting is perfect for my home, radiating the calmness and gentle ebb and flow of the ocean. Its beauty is found in the textures and the intricacy of detail.’ - Sue, Canberra.
